You spend twelve hours looking after other people, and a nine-to-five planner with Monday-to-Friday layouts was never built for your week. Your day might start at 7 PM, and your weekend might be a Tuesday and Wednesday.
This planner is organised around your shifts. The shift day page covers pre-shift prep, on-shift priorities and post-shift wind-down, while a separate off day page handles errands, appointments, self-care and meal prep. A weekly overview shows your shift pattern and key tasks at a glance. Further sections include a sleep tracker for irregular schedules, a meal prep planner for shift days, a hydration tracker and a gentle self-care check-in that acknowledges compassion fatigue.
A CEU and license tracker records hours completed, hours needed and renewal dates. The pages are undated, and filled-in samples show day and night shifts.
You take care of everyone. This planner is here to help you take care of you.
If you work 12-hour shifts, you already know that regular planners don't work for your life. The Monday-through-Friday, 9-to-5 layout with its tidy little time blocks was not designed for someone who works 7 PM to 7 AM, sleeps from 8 AM to 3 PM, and has to figure out which day of the week it actually is based on how many shifts are left in the rotation.
Your schedule is different. Your planner should be too.
This planner was designed by and for nurses who work 12-hour shifts – days, nights, or the dreaded rotation. Every page accounts for the reality that your "day" doesn't start at sunrise and your "weekend" might be a Tuesday and Wednesday.
At the start of each week, fill in your shift schedule on the weekly overview. Then use the shift-day pages on work days and the off-day pages on days off. The daily pages are undated and unlabeled – just write in the date and go.
This planner doesn't care if your week starts on a Wednesday or if you're sleeping at 2 PM. It adapts to you.
You spend 12 hours keeping other people alive. Let's make sure you're not running on coffee and adrenaline alone.
