What Your Clearing Agent Won't Tell You

You are about to spend millions of naira bringing a car into Nigeria, and at almost every step someone is counting on you not understanding the numbers. The agent, the dealer and the shipper all get paid when you buy. Nobody is paid to tell you the car may cost far more than you expect.

What Your Clearing Agent Won't Tell You walks through the whole import process, naira by naira. You learn how Customs calculates your duty, how the valuation system catches people out, and how engine size and vehicle age shape what you pay. You compare Japan, the USA and Dubai as source countries, and learn how to vet a clearing agent and handle SON rules, age limits and timing.

The second half turns to the buyer's side, with tokunbo scams such as VIN cloning and fake papers, accident rebuilds and flood damage, paperwork checks, and a pre-purchase inspection checklist. It ends with a total landed cost worksheet so you can see the real figure before you commit.
